1950s Hillestak chair

Vintage Hillestak chair, designed by Robin Day for Hille (GB).

Moulded ply back and seat and beech frame.

Designed in 1950, the Hillestak chair was conceived when government-imposed Utility restrictions were still in place and was sold into assembly halls, canteens and made under licence abroad.  

In good vintage condition. Some signs of wear and tear, to be expected with age, but nothing that stands out. There is a crack on the spine, meaning there is more flex though it holds fine when seated.
